Popa ChubbyIntrepid Artists is proud to announce blues-rocker Popa Chubby has joined our roster exclusively for bookings in North America. Bronx native Popa has been wowing crowds across the globe for twenty years and has released a huge catalog of recordings.

Popa Chubby, born Ted Horowitz in 1960, is a native son of The Big Apple. His parents owned a candy store in the Bronx. The young Chubby would play the jukebox endlessly listening to the hits of the day. Motown, Stax Volt, Chess and Atlantic records spun endlessly through the young boy’s head. “The defining moment came when my Dad took me to see Chuck Berry when I was 6. There’s Chuck, onstage, larger than life. I see a bulge in his pocket and ask my dad what it is. ‘That’s Chuck’s money,’ my dad said. I was sold on the spot.”

For 2011 Popa will be releasing his second Provogue CD where he’s continues to preach how a white boy got the blues.
