Over the past seven years, Monophonics have staked their claim as one of California’s premier bands. Raised amid the Bay Area’s rich musical culture, Monophonics has proudly carried on the tradition of music native to their hometown, which flourished during the birth of psychedelia.

The 2012 record from San Francisco based band Monophonics, entitled In Your Brain, sits on the fuzzy psych side of soul and funk. Paying homage to innovators such as Sly Stone, Norman Whitfield and Funkedelic’s George Clinton, the 6 piece outfit displays their ability to put a moody stamp on each composition. Touching on everything from cinematic soul, heavy funk, 60′s rock and spaghetti western laced with yellow sunshine acid, the album is sure to leave you tuned in and turned on!

Yo’ Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band is gearing up for the release of their new album Doin’ It Hard on March 27th, 2012. Doin’ It Hard will be available on 12” vinyl, compact disc, and digital download.

It began as a party, grew into a band, evolved into a sound, and emerged as an institution. Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band (aka the Booty Band) has gone through many changes since their fated onset in 2002. Today they are ready to shake the world, one cheek at a time.
